Price
At the time of this article, it is just over $200. That makes this a mid-range survival bow, but for something like this, we think that is more than a fair price for such quality.
If you think about it. It is something that is going to last your lifetime, and that probably can’t be said about some of this bow’s competitors on the market.
Material
It’s made from aerospace-grade anodized aluminum and this type of material is known to be very very tough. As is this bow. With a rugged construct, it can take some beating around too. Although, I wouldn’t advise that.
Durability
I have done my own tests, mostly just own dead stomps to test how strong it is. So I can say that it is a really durable survival bow.
Parts
The bolts to conceal the limbs to the riser are high-tension steel, so they will last quite a long time. These are resistant to corrosion and retainers are a 3/16 marine grade steel, so that is also nice.
Power
The design had to be well for it to stay strung for long periods of time. It has been tested with a jig, for a week straight and was drawn back without losing its power. It was able to retain, so this is another solid and important aspect of this bow.
Portable
The whole point of this bow is to be able to fold it up and be concealed, only using it for survival or other practical reason.
Grip
On the bow, where your hand is going to be placed for taking a shot, you have sandpaper for grip. It is kind of nice to have because it’s warmer than gripping the survival bow’s metal.
Feeling
A very intuitive feeling bow, it doesn’t feel like a mechanical bow at all, it feels more like a, has a bit of girth just like a regular recurve bow would have. And then there are some other survival bows where it’s just too thin that make the bow uncomfortable to hold onto, but for this, it feels really nice when you are holding it in your hand.
Length
When extended it is 60” and folded up 21”. So, you know what that means, you’ll be able to fit this into a pack.
Weight
It only weighs 1 kilogram. And which seems to be the weight of most recurves.
Carrying Case
It comes with a camouflage carrying case that will hold arrows and strap around you. It does a great job, just like any other quiver would work. It holds arrows, they stay secure and that is the whole point of it really, a nice, convenient way to ensure arrows are stored and kept safe. The carrying case also has an adjustable strap to make it fit so you can reach arrows from it.
Bottom Line
This is something that is built to last a very long time and has a unique design that the company really put a lot of time to consider. Nice features, and has a good feeling when shooting it at a target or small game. So, for a mid-range bow, you are getting a nice weapon for a good price.
One thing I would want to see in the future is having a rubber grip instead of sandpaper, but this is just a minuscule thing that would be nice to have but not necessarily a must-have.
A great survival bow that can be easily fit into a day bag and brought along with you for a true piece of vitality gear, as I would trust my life with this in a defensive scenario where I absolutely needed to use it, and it is just that solid that that well designed and I think most users would say the same.
